Yeti Cohosting Employee Spotlight Series: Meet Maria

Maria, Yeti Cohosting employee

Here at Yeti Cohosting, our employees are the cornerstone of our success. We had the privilege to build a stable, committed team, and as a result we’re able to offer our customers a higher level of service and convenience.

That’s why we want to start introducing you to our employees, so you can put names to faces and understand what makes them such an incredible part of our team.

Today, meet Maria, one of our most trusted housekeepers. Maria is a proud mother of 3 and a grandmother to 4 who enjoys painting during her spare time.

How many years have you lived in Truckee, and what do you like most about living here?

I’ve lived in Truckee for 29 years. I enjoy the people and the beautiful landscape. It’s a good place to raise children in a good environment.

What are the biggest challenges of living and working in Truckee?

The driving during the winter. The snow can be challenging.

If you had to choose one, Winter or Summer, which would you choose and why?

Summer, because of the weather. It’s shorter here in Truckee, so we have to enjoy it.

You’ve been with Yeti for almost a year now. What’s made you want to stay?

I am very happy to work for Yeti because of Ken and Danielle. They are very nice people, hard working and honest.

Which house is your favorite to clean?

“Mogul Run” located in the lower elevation Tahoe Donner, because I know it very well.

What do you value most when working for a vacation rental cleaning company?

Leaving a house clean and nice, so the guests fully enjoy their stay!

Yeti has invested in technology and issued you a company phone. Does it help you do your job better?

It helps me very much. I can access all the house information easily, and provide quick updates. It helps me notify Ken and Danielle when I’ve started or ended a job. It also gives me a checklist which ensures I remember everything.

When did you start painting?

I started in 2014. I feel the need to express the light that a human being needs to give to others.

Ken and Danielle, on Maria

Maria was referred to us by a friend in town. She came to us with over 20 years of cleaning experience both in residential and vacation rental cleaning, as well as having run a few businesses of her own in the past. Maria lives in the heart of Truckee and knows this area very well. That is one of the reasons we are so blessed to have her! She is great at navigating her way to all of our homes and is an expert driver in winter conditions.

Maria is the best mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone who crosses her path. She is active in her Catholic church community here and sings in the choir.

One thing in this business that can be hard to find is someone with a good work ethic. Maria is the most hard-working, reliable, and honest employee. We can trust her with access to expensive homes and we know that she always leaves every one of them sparkling clean!
