Great location if you are planning to ski. I would definitely come back.

David A.

The cheapest one bedroom I could find. It’s not the most beautiful apartment but it is very functional and with all the money left you can tons of stuff

Guillaume D.

Amazing location for skiing. True ski-in/ski-out + short walk to village. Great host. We had a wonderful time here.

Samuel L.

Absolutely amazing location – you couldn’t be closer to the slopes! The condo is just as described. Also happy to say the mattress on the Murphy bed in the living room was super high quality and I slept like a baby.

Dean B.

The place was absolutely perfect. Ski in/out. Clean. Friendly host. Great price. Highly recommend.

Trupti P.

True ski in ski out place. No fuss no frills. The condo could’ve used a detailed cleaning but no complaints.

Wen T.

Great location. Great communication. I will stay there again.

Patrick G.

Wonderful stay! The place was spotless and exactly as described. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed, and nice ski in ski out for our like. Also communication with the host was quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend it and stay again.

Mateo J.

Overall, we had a good stay. The place mostly matched the description. It is a bit dated, but was clean. The kitchen was well-equipped. The bedroom is cramped and there is limited space for your stuff. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. Not many people stay at these places in the summer, so mostly it is quiet and uncrowded.

Brynn J.

Great place, comfy bed, awesome amenities!

Richard M.

My family loved this condo and promised we would come back! Comfy bed, fireplace was cozy, jump park outside your window- no complaints for dad!
Ken and the team were super helpful, quick to respond and had great recommendations for the area.

Luke W.

The home was as described.

Ken S.

Great place to stay! Detailed instructions sent before hand which made checking in and settling in very easy. Location is perfect, especially if you’re visiting Northstar for mountain biking/skiing/snowboarding. Beautiful view of the trees from the living room was a nice bonus! Would stay there again and easily recommend to others.

Where you’ll be

Truckee, California, United States

located within the renowned Northstar California Resort, a thoughtfully planned alpine community known for its balance of outdoor adventure, refined amenities, and family-friendly atmosphere. Set among the pine-covered slopes of the Sierra Nevada, this neighborhood offers immediate access to mountain recreation along with the convenience of resort services just steps away.

The Village at Northstar is a short walk from the condo, providing a central hub for dining, shopping, coffee, après-ski gatherings, ice skating in winter, and a full calendar of seasonal events. The Village’s pedestrian-friendly layout makes it an easy and enjoyable destination throughout the day and evening, whether you are grabbing breakfast before heading to the mountain or settling in for dinner after a full day outdoors.

The resort operates a complimentary shuttle system, making it simple to move around the Northstar community without driving. Guests can request a ride through the Northstar transportation app or by calling the shuttle directly. There is also a designated shuttle stop located in the parking area just in front of the condo, offering quick access to the Village, the recreation center, and other points throughout the resort.

Northstar is known for its year-round recreation. In winter, more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain draw skiers and snowboarders of all levels, while groomed paths and the Village ice rink add to the seasonal charm. In summer, the resort becomes a hub for hiking, mountain biking, outdoor dining, live music, and family-oriented activities. The natural surroundings and resort infrastructure work together to create an environment that is both invigorating and relaxing.

This neighborhood combines the beauty of the mountains with the ease of a modern, well-organized resort, offering guests exceptional access to everything Northstar has to offer.

Access

Guests have full private access to the condo, including the living areas, bedroom, bathroom, and the king-size Murphy bed located in the living room beside the gas fireplace.

Two dedicated parking spots are available directly in front of the unit, offering easy entry and exit in all seasons. The property provides true ski-in/ski-out access; guests can walk a few steps from the front door, move around to the back, and immediately click into their skis.

Ski lockers are available on-site for secure equipment storage. A community washer and dryer is located upstairs for guest use during the stay.

Guests also have access to the Northstar Property Owners Association (NPOA) Recreation Center, which includes a year-round heated pool, seasonal hot tubs, fitness center, saunas, and seasonal tennis and pickleball courts. The Northstar Village is within walking distance for dining, shopping, and additional activities.

Transit

Navigating Northstar and the surrounding Truckee region is straightforward, especially for guests new to the area. The resort is designed to make travel easy without relying heavily on a personal vehicle, and several transportation options ensure smooth access to the Village, recreation areas, and nearby towns.

Within Northstar, the complimentary shuttle system is the most convenient way to get around. Guests can request a pickup through the Northstar transportation app or by phone, and a designated shuttle stop is located directly in the parking lot just steps from the condo. This service provides reliable access to the Village at Northstar, the recreation center, trailheads, and other key points throughout the resort. Using the shuttle is particularly helpful during winter, when parking areas fill quickly and weather conditions can slow travel.

For those who choose to drive in winter, it is important to be properly prepared. Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles equipped with snow tires are strongly recommended, and carrying tire chains is required by law when storms are active. Arriving early during peak ski days can help avoid congestion, though many guests find the shuttle to be the most efficient option for navigating the resort during busy times.

In summer, getting around becomes even more flexible. The paved paths that wind through Northstar make walking and biking enjoyable ways to reach the Village or nearby trails. The shuttle continues to operate, offering convenient access to dining, shopping, concerts, and seasonal events.

For travel beyond Northstar, downtown Truckee is only a short drive away. Guests who prefer not to drive can use the Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) system, which connects Northstar with Truckee, Kings Beach, and many North Lake Tahoe destinations.

By combining walkability, an efficient shuttle network, and accessible regional transit, Northstar offers a smooth and stress-free travel experience. These options allow guests to focus on enjoying the mountain environment rather than navigating logistics.

The guide includes check-in instructions, Wi-Fi information, operational tips for the gas fireplace and ski lockers, local dining and activity recommendations, and detailed guidance tailored to Northstar’s unique environment.

Northstar experiences true mountain conditions, especially in winter. Storms can develop quickly, and heavy snowfall is common. Guests should be prepared for snow-covered or icy roads, potential travel delays, and the need for proper winter equipment. Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires are strongly recommended, and chains may be legally required during storms. The guide provides information on parking during winter weather, snow removal procedures, and how to enter and exit the property safely during severe conditions.

Northstar is a resort community with established rules regarding parking, noise, and guest behavior. These guidelines help maintain a peaceful environment for all residents and visitors. We encourage guests to review the community policies in the guide prior to arrival.

We recommend sharing the TouchStay guide with all members of your group so everyone is aware of important details before and during the stay. With proper preparation and a clear understanding of how the resort operates, guests can enjoy a smooth, relaxing, and memorable Northstar experience.
