Ken house at truckee feels like home. We loved our stay at Ken’s house. The house was clean when we arrived . The walls looks like just got fresh paint . The bedrooms and the beds are very comfortable. The house has everything you need Many plates, glasses, cutlery , pots, towels and sheets . The house is located in a great area, near two supermarkets and places to eat.

Calebe D.

Ken was a fantastic host. My family had an incredible vacation and would highly recommend staying in the Truckee/Tahoe area to everyone. A definite 5-star rating.

Cayle P.

Ken is an outstanding host. He is extremely responsive, proactive and a terrific, efficient communicator. He also set (at least for me) the gold standard for “before you get here” communications, in the form of a 89 page (!) guidebook to the property, the surroundings, restaurants, ski-shops, where everything is and how everything works. Whoa! When I asked Ken for recommendations for Ski rentals, he steered us to exactly the right place within an hour. The cabin was spotless, well-stocked, and in every way as described. Zero surprises, which is how it should be. I can 100% recommend Ken and am looking forward to renting from him again.

Hanno K.

This place is super cozy and clean at a great value! It’s located near Tahoe Donner which offers a lot of amenities for the folks with you who may not want to ski. Lots of towels provided and an extra set of blankets for the pullout couch in the living room. Kitchen is well-stocked (seasonings, ziplock bags, parchment paper) and wood is provided to start a fire! Our host Ken was really flexible and a great communicator. Thank you for the great stay!

Brian L.

Ken was super responsive and super friendly. This home was perfect for my family and we all enjoyed our time here. Perfect location. Overall great and would recommend this home to others and stay here again!

Victoria L.

Great place, very accommodating and had everything we needed. Host was great at communicating and he gave a provided guidebook which was very helpful!

Prithvi S.

We had a wonderful time in this house with our family! The house fully matches the description: clean, cozy, very spacious and bright. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay — comfortable beds, fresh towels and linens, a fully equipped kitchen (all appliances work perfectly), air conditioning, washer and dryer, and fast Wi-Fi.

Natalia L.

Excellent stay. Ken was very attentive. Great single story cabin, perfect for my family of 5.

Sanaz M.

Good spot, I would say sleeps 8 rather than 10

Peter G.

Met our needs perfectly. Easy check-in and great response time on questions we had.

Michael R.

Ken’s place was clean, comfortable, and convenient.
Would definitly stay there again

Ed T.

Ken’s home is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a simple cozy home with scenic views nestled in the heart of Truckee. There were no issues with any appliances and the check in/out procedures were simple and fair.

We didn’t take advantage of the local beach club amenities as we were simply there to visit family in Old Greenwood. We booked Ken’s home because it was spacious, generally affordable, pet-friendly for our small dog, and very convenient.

My one and only complaint is the outlets didn’t work in the bathroom of the room I was staying in. Obviously this is very insignificant and I didn’t actively reach out to try and rectify the issue, in hindsight it could’ve been something as simple as switching a breaker back on.

If the need arose to stay in Truckee again, we wouldn’t hesitate to book this property a second time. Our experience was great. Thank you to Ken for being kind and hospitable throughout our stay.

Josh L.

Nice and clean house. Ken is helpful and provides detail check in instruction! Highly recommended!

Hao L.

Our group of 3 families spent the Thanksgiving weekend at Ken’s place and loved it! Thank you for hosting us!

Sowmya J.

Nice location, close to the ski resorts. Clean and cozy place to live. Maybe a bit packed for 10 people but should fit 8 nice and easy

Xiaobo L.

We had such a wonderful stay! The cabin is beautiful and clean, just as described. Ken is a great host, always responds to questions and requests.

Laura N.

This was the best stocked, most comfortable Airbnb rental our families have stayed in. We are frequent visitors to Truckee in summer and winter, and we loved the location for skiing nearby. The kitchen had excellent supplies of cooking and prep equipment, including sharp knives, glassware, dishes, and appliances. The pans were so good our crepes turned out better than at home! The beds were amazingly comfortable, with high quality mattresses, frames, and linens. The living space is all one level so good for families who need kids close by, but with their own rooms. We had good snowplow service even with a major storm, and I appreciated that the driveway was flat and there was a good supply of salt for us to keep the walkways and driveway safe. Although we ended up snowed in with the weather for a few days, we were comfortable and entertained the entire stay! I’d highly recommend.

Neda R.

Spacious, well located and perfect for two families with kids.

Patsy D.

Ken’s place was perfect. I would highly recommend staying!

Rose B.

Great place with responsive host! Had everything our large group needed.

Thomas M.

We had a great stay at Ken’s place. The house is on a beautiful, quiet and peaceful street. The rooms are all as they appear online. We were comfortable and enjoyed the house. Take note that check out time is a very firm 10am unless you want to pay 56$ for a one-hour extension. This is unusual given my 10 -year experience as an airbnb host and guest. Make sure you are prepared to be out by 10am or to pay extra. Normally, as a host and as a guest I have one hour check out extensions if they are possible (given cleaning schedules) without charging, especially given the 10am check out time. Thank you for hosting us Ken.

Ann R.

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our time here. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. We especially appreciated that it is pet-friendly, which made the trip even better for us.nnThe neighborhood was very nice, and even the neighbors’ dogs were friendly. If there is one small suggestion, it would be to maybe consider fully fencing one side of the outdoor area, so dogs could safely play in the snow :)nnOur family had a great experience and would absolutely love to stay here again.

By Car – The Most Reliable Option

A personal vehicle is the easiest way to explore Tahoe Donner and the greater Truckee area. The home offers driveway parking for multiple vehicles (garage use only if specified), and flat access makes winter arrivals more manageable than in higher-elevation neighborhoods. You’re just minutes from Tahoe Donner Downhill, the Cross Country Center, Donner Lake, and downtown Truckee.

TART Public Transit

While TART does not run inside Tahoe Donner, free regional buses operate throughout Truckee and North Lake Tahoe, with stops in downtown Truckee. It’s a great option for exploring the lakefront, avoiding resort parking, or accessing nearby towns.

Interaction with guests

We’re committed to making your stay smooth, comfortable, and worry-free. Our team is available daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM to answer questions, offer local recommendations, and assist with anything you may need. We typically respond within minutes during these hours.

You can reach us through the booking platform, phone, or text—whichever is easiest for you. We respect your privacy and give you plenty of space to enjoy your time in the mountains, but we may check in briefly to ensure everything is going well.

We are not staffed overnight, so for life-threatening emergencies, please call 911. Non-urgent messages received after 9 PM will be addressed first thing in the morning.

Notes

To help you enjoy a smooth and comfortable stay at 12437 Lausanne Way, you’ll have access to our TouchStay digital guide, which includes everything you need to navigate the home and surrounding area with confidence. Inside, you’ll find step-by-step instructions for using the digital lock, operating the wood-burning fireplace, understanding parking guidelines, and accessing Tahoe Donner amenities.

The guide also provides curated local recommendations, including Tahoe Donner trails, the ski hill, Donner Lake activities, dining in Downtown Truckee, and seasonal travel tips—so you can make the most of your visit without having to search for information.

For transparency and guest safety, the property is equipped with exterior security monitoring devices located at the front door and driveway. There are no interior cameras.

Please note that during heavy snow years, a significant portion of the wrap-around deck may be unusable due to natural roof snow shedding onto the decking areas. This is common for mountain homes and helps protect the structural integrity of the roof during large winter storms.

Using the digital guide ensures quick answers to common questions and minimizes back-and-forth communication, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy your mountain getaway. It’s designed to provide clarity, convenience, and trusted local insight from start to finish.
