Ride the Truckee River Railroad for Kid-Friendly Family Fun!

COVID-19: Stayed tuned for the 2020 opening on the Truckee Donner Railroad Society’s Facebook page.

Truckee Donner Railroad Society has built an extensive track system with old historical architectural features from the Comstock & Mining era.  It is located at the Truckee Regional Park and stretches from the skate park/playground area all the way down to the Truckee River and back with multiple loops of tracks.

This family-friendly attraction gives any train enthusiast a blast to Truckee’s past.  Adults and kids can sit and ride on these little steam engine locomotives.  The entire project is still being developed with new landmark attractions and other track sections are being constructed.

Railroads have always played an important part in our local history. They helped us build this awesome area and it’s fun to celebrate them.

Adults, don’t forget to schedule a trestle tour! You’ll experience Truckee’s old logging lines and history while enjoying some truly beautiful scenery.
