Enroll little ones in a lesson and enjoy time for yourself to hit the nordic trails or go shopping in downtown Truckee. Families also love Snowplay, a sledding and tubing area conveniently located close to many Tahoe Donner vacation rentals.

Summer & Winter Outdoor Fun

In winter, a Tahoe Donner cabin gives you easy access to sledding and tubing at Tahoe Donner Snowplay, skiing or snowboarding at the Downhill Ski Resort, and cross country skiing or snowshoeing at the Cross Country Ski Center. Tahoe Donner has some of the best cross country skiing in the region and was even voted #6 in North America by USA Today! In summer, check out the pony rides at the Equestrian Center, tee up at the 18-hole, par-72 championship Golf Course, and go mountain biking or hiking out of the Alder Creek Adventure Center.

Start at the Alder Creek Adventure Center to explore Tahoe Donner’s 60+ mile trail system. Endless trails and fire roads are open for hiking, mountain biking, gravel riding, horseback riding, and trail running. View winter and summer trail maps here. You can also hop on a scenic paved path, the Trout Creek Trail, to get from your Tahoe Donner cabin to downtown Truckee.
